Eisenhower (American President) (3), George S. Patton (United States Army General) (3), Arthur Coningham (2), Trafford Leigh-Mallory (2), William Lyon Mackenzie King (Canadian Prime Minister) (2), Winston Churchill (British Prime Minister) (4), Omar Bradley (United States Army Field Commander) (3), Charles de Gaulle (French General) (2), Hans-Georg von Friedeburg (German Admiral), General Kinsel, Gerhard Wagner (Admiral), Major Friedel & others Provenance: From the archive of William Hallam, the book contains a note from Hallam to the front 'My Autograph book of famous people I have drove through the great historic events of 1944-45 as General Montgomery's driver. They were the most exciting and saddest years of my life. W Hallam'. The book contains some dedications to W Hallam and words of wisdom from the leaders of the time with some dated 'As it was in the beginning so it must continue to the end Winston Churchill June 1944' and following 'Victory At last the goal is reached Winston Churchill 1945'. Many of these signatures were obtained at the Conference of Army Commanders for the D-Day Invasion on the 1st June 1944 in Portsmouth. The archive is sold with a note pad holder believed to have been used by General Montgomery during conferences. Photocopied images are supplied showing William Hallam and General Montgomery with the car.
