Two (2) 19th Century Indo-Persian Mughal Barutdan military gun powder flask, hand lacquer painted & carved wood depicting a peacock and dragon/sea monster swallowing the head and tail of a fish. Extremely rare to have both of the muzzle loaders in tact and together that was worn over the shoulder in combat. The Mughal or Mogul Empire was based in the Indian subcontinent, established and ruled by a Muslim Persianate dynasty of Chagatai Turco-Mongol origin that extended over large parts of the Indian subcontinent and Afghanistan. Indo-Persian culture" refers to those Persian aspects that have been integrated into or absorbed into the culture of South Asia, and in particular, into North India, and modern-day Pakistan.
