Stackpole Sons, New York, (1938). Octavo (8 ½ X 5 ¾ in., 215 X 145 mm). 263 pages. Blue cloth, spine and front board lettered in black. Very Good, with slight sun fading along the board extremities. Hinges are sound. Price clipped dust jacket faded with wear along panel edges, and paper tape reinforcement of the folds on the verso. Signed on the front free endpaper, “To Mama Chaplin, Louise (Partly for her son George Jr.!) Louise Thaden set altitude and solo duration records in the 1920s and was the winner of both the first Woman’s Air Derby and the first Bendix Transcontinental Race.
