<p>With over 1000 lots, Signature House is featuring a great collection of early Presidents, including two ALsS by George Washington and two signatures by Martha Washington; documents signed by John Adams and John Marshall; ships papers by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison; an Abraham Lincoln endorsement plus a portion of legal document signed, as well as many other presidential ALsS. Also featured is a beautiful leather bound book with engravings and signatures of Presidents from Washington to Roosevelt. Plus a spectacular early printing of the U.S. Constitution.
<p>Our Colonial and Americana sections feature ALsS from John Hancock; Benedict Arnold; Nathanael Greene; an LS by “Mad” Anthony Wayne; a rare signature of Kit Carson and true copies of peace treaties with tribes of Western Pennsylvania; and a great George A. Custer letter talking about the Plains Indians. A rare confederate chaplain’s slouch hat and a war-date letter signed by Robert E. Lee in 1862 may be found in our Civil War category.
<p>A fine military section features Admiral William Leahy’s presentation sword, an SP of George S. Patton, and photo of the illustrious general placing the Bronze Star on his driver together with the medal itself.
<p>There are books signed by C. S. Lewis, Lindbergh, Polk, JFK. We have heads of state including Churchill, royalty, science notables such as Freud and Edison, business leaders, jurists and statesmen.
<p>Also a fine selection of literary figures including Barrie, Dickens, Virginia Woolf and a very rare Ann Radcliffe; artists such as Erté, Picasso and Dali; and classical composers and musicians. In entertainment we have John Wayne’s camouflage jacket he wore in The Green Berets, Janis Joplin’s Autoharp, and a French tunic from Casablanca. In sports, we have a wonderful collection of Babe Ruth signed baseballs and with Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx, all the great sports stars - and much more.
