With a Foreword by Major General C. L. Chennault. New York, Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1943. First Edition, first printing. Octavo (8 ¼ X 5 7/8 in., 209 X 154 mm). 277 pages. Blue cloth, spine and front board stamped and lettered in white. Very Good. Spine slightly faded, trace of fraying at the crown. Hinges are sound. Priced dust jacket is creased, with paper loss at the upper spine panel, touched-up with ink to make presentable. Paper tape reinforcement of the folds on the verso. Signed on the front free endpaper, “To my friend, Art Ronnie – Sincerely, Robert L. Scott, Jr. 1978, Phoenix, AZ.” Robert L. Scott’s first and most famous book. An especially desirable book to find signed, and, despite minor flaws, this is a bright and presentable copy.
