Made in the early 1930s by John McCabe of Hollywood as part of the extraordinary, record setting Mrs H L Musick sterling, gold and ruby parade ensemble -- acquired by Roy Rogers in 1950. The lot includes a pair of BOOT TOPS, cleverly designed to slip over a pair of boots and still match the rest of the outfit. Each top is floral carved black leather with rows of silver and gold flowers along the top and bottom inset with real ruby centers. One top is an oval panel with rope edge, showing a silver landscape with the figure of a gold cowboy on horseback roping a calf. The other panel shows a cowboy bulldogging a steer. The SPURS are heavy steel overlay with chased and engraved silver rope edges overall. The shanks and heel bands have floral motifs while the rowels are six petal silver flowers with floral and rowel pins of silver and gold flowers with ruby centers. The spur straps have the same small flowers as the rowel pins with 3-piece gold horseshoe, gold & silver buckle sets. Each strap has a large floral concho with a ruby center. The GAUNTLETS are floral carved, black leather with silver and gold ruby flowers across the top and silver central medallions with raised gold longhorns SOLD: Lot #221, High Noon Auction, Mesa, Arizona, January 19, 2002
