Auction Details

With over 750 outstanding lots, RR Auction’s October Fine Autograph and Artifact Auction opens with a remarkable featured section—‘Innovators of Man and Machine,’ boasting three centuries' worth of the world’s greatest minds: Bernoulli, Watt, Pasteur, Westinghouse, Edison, Einstein, Boeing, and Ferrari are among the autographs offered. The rest of the catalog provides a well-balanced assortment of items from presidents, Declaration of Independence signers, activists, businessmen, world leaders, royalty, military figures, artists, authors, musicians, entertainers, and athletes. A small sampling of top items in the sale: an Albert Einstein handwritten manuscript related to his work on a unified field theory; a 50-letter archive of letters from photographer Alfred Stieglitz to New Yorker critic Lewis Mumford; a Freud letter on the Oedipus complex; a musical quote from Verdi’s ‘La traviata’; a fully signed Beatles promo card; and a game-used baseball from the 1917 Tim Murnane Day benefit game played at Fenway Park.
