The 96 lots in this auction represent artists and moments from the 1980s through today — the music that shaped Gen X, Millennials, and beyond. Coldplay and Muse. Sonic Youth and Ride. The Beastie Boys and No Doubt. The Cars and Depeche Mode. The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The Flaming Lips and Jane's Addiction. Grimes. Steve Stevens.

Stage-played instruments, artist-owned and tour-used gear, music video-used wardrobe, and rock artifacts with documented provenance — every lot researched, authenticated, and accompanied by detailed documentation.

Most music memorabilia auctions tell the same story: Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix. The canon is well-served. As a category, post-1980 music memorabilia is still in its infancy. The major houses chase the biggest dollars and the simplest sales; lot-by-lot research across an entire generation of contemporary artists doesn't fit that model. Meanwhile, artifacts from the artists who shaped the modern era are being lost to storage units, guitar-shop trade-ins, and estate clear-outs every week.
