This is a Kerala Jewelry box that has antique brass fittings and a lock system.
It has rare artwork of well-known vegetable oil paint art on the box. this must be from the early 19th century as that was the period of this kind of boxes. It has a particular shape according to Kerala Vasthu Shasta which attracts the prosperous things in the universe to the box.
In ancient times in this box kept the most precious jewelry and gold coins. This used to be found only in the upper-class community in that period as this was the most luxurious thing at that time. This particular Antique jewelry box has great quality, beauty, and condition.
Four of the ancient umbrella-shaped nails have been replaced with brass screws circa 1940.
The box is 8 1/4" X 11" and 7" high.
