James Nowak (1956), glass sculpture signed by artist. James Nowak was born in Wisconsin in 1956. Nowak uses assorted combinations of glass cane, murrini, dichroic glass and orbs. He is known for his mastery of incorporating multiple colors and precisely made cane, murrini, dichroic glass into large difficult to control glass art pieces. Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. ARTIST STATEMENT "On a different level my work carries a message about boundaries. The boundaries between order and chaos. Metamorphically an island represents order and the sea chaos. The surface of my work depicts colorful abstractions of flora and fauna. I work with reflective and transparent areas. This allows some things o be seen while hiding others, evoking a sense of adventure and discovery."(Size: See second photo for measurement.)
