Made for rodeo and silent era cowboy film actor, Tommy Grimes (1887-1934). Double mounted on inside marked CROCKETT, Cherokee Pat #177 iron blanks in sterling and heavy gauge gold floral designs with rubies, 2", 16 pt rowels with engraved sterling discs on both sides. Original floral carved and lined two-piece leathers with swinging buttons, adorned with domed, engraved 1 1/2" silver conchos with rope edge, gold flowers with ruby centers. Stunning 1/2", 3-piece gold and silver ranger buckles with rubies and gold initials TDG in 3-color gold. Fine condition, c late 1920s. Tommy Grimes (1887-1934) Born in Oklahoma, Grimes went on to become a well known rodeo competitor winning trophies in the bucking horse competition at Cheyenne in 1915 and for steer roping at Pendleton in 1921.
