Edward H Bohlin, Hollywood, Calif Dick Dickson Jr Parade Saddle
One of Ed Bohlin’s most popular sterling silver parade saddles, the Dick Dickson Jr was originally designed and named for the movie theatre executive, rancher and Rancheros Visitadores regular who first rode it in the Pasadena Rose Parade in the 1930s. The King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers, ordered his Bohlin model Dickson in 1940, riding it for nearly two decades atop his beloved Palamino, Trigger. A paraders favorite, this iconic model is built on a Miles City Tree with 13” swells, a 16” seat, 3 1/2” cantle and Bohlin’s trademark raised sterling buffalo head on the silvered horn. Completely decorated with heavy gauge sterling silver in diamonds, half-diamonds, and Bohlin silver spots, silver seat plate, intricately engraved corner plates plus stately 21” long tapaderos adorned with matching silver and a central six-point star. Parade ensemble includes a perfectly matching Bohlin Breast Collar and Bridle with a Bohlin marked curb bit. Excellent, 100% original condition, c 1940s-50s
