Crimean war interest letter from: Private John Douglas to his wife/fiancee dated 29th January 1855, Two privates John Douglas and J Douglas were recorded in the Crimean War one was a private enlisted in 1850 and a survivor of the Crimean War. At the date of the charge of the light brigade (25th October 1854) he was serving in the 13th Light Dragoons, which was part of the action. The other was recorded as having been slightly wounded at the Battle of Inkerman.
