Stunning, one-of-a-kind eagle and snake bit and spur set made by Diane and Bob Scalese of Sweetsilver in Big Sandy, Montana: a) SPURS are full mounted with a spread winged American bald eagle, in sterling silver and 14K gold on the band, silver inlaid shanks, IN GOD WE TRUST inlaid in 24K gold wire and a silver button with 5-point gold star. Base of the shank is the Union shield. Off-side features DON’T TREAD ON ME in 24K on silver inlaid snake with a gold rattler, 2 1/4", 18 pt rowels, heelchains; b) Half-breed intricately engraved Bridle BIT has the same theme with eagle and 14K gold shield on the 2 1/4" domed conchos. Inlaid snake on the cheeks, half-breed copper cricket has been hand engraved. Rein chains and swivels also hand crafted. Bob and Diane met at Montana State University in Bozeman where they both hold B S degrees from the College of Agriculture. In 1986 Bob built his first pair of spurs when he was 9 years old. A self -taught maker, he enjoys building bits and spurs while Diane does all the engraving. Their unique Northern Range style uses influence from the vaquero tradition as well the the Texas and Wyoming styles.
