Half plate. The back has a metal cover with a hanging hook as well as table stand. This example has a convex cover glass. Case is flawless, [4] $400

Half plate. Back has hanging hooks on top and on each side. The back plate is hooked on with an unusual tab arrangement. Frame is flawless.

This is the same frame as in the Berg book, but Paul had replaced the image with this nice 1/4 plate ambrotype that looks much better. The frame itsel

Almost perfect, with a just-about-unseen hairline split in the inner rim.

The cases are without damage but the gilding has worn on the inner margin.
