Jadeite integrates the beauty of jade and brilliance of a gem. Its colors are very mysterious and enigmatic, elegant, pure and soft. Jadeite is bright in color, with a glass gloss oily appearance and a high transparency in upwards of 3mm to 5mm light penetration. It is hard enough to cut glass and is cold to the touch. There are multiple grades of Jadeite. 1. Glass Jadeite; the best jade species, featured by the highest transparency, almost entirely transparent. It contains fewer inclusions comprised of impurities and is crystal clear. 2. White Jadeite; fine in texture with common transparency and white as snow. Often with a fibrous structure most of which is opaque with maximum light penetration up to 1mm depth. Typically used for bracelets, carvings and pendants. 3. Flower Green Jadeite; is in vein distribution, grounding by light green and other colors, in coarse and refined texture. It is a more widely distributed species and is classified according to the color distribution status varying from sparse and intensive and the color ranging from dark to light. 4. Oily Green Jadeite; refers to the dark emerald green with it color not pure green, but with gray and a tone of blue varying from light to dark. Good transparency and the surface has an oily sheen due to different degrees of green shades. It is referred to as "Rind Oily Green" in dark color and "Fresh Oily Green" in light color.
