American Dream Benefit Auction

Auction Details

American Dream, a benefit for the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts, features work by Binh Pho in celebration of the opening of Shadow of The Turning at the Craft and Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles, and his role in the Academy Award nominated documentary Last Days in Vietnam, recently debuting on PBS as part of the American Experience Series.
American Dream references Binh’s journey from Communist Vietnam to Freedom in the United States, documented in River of Destiny: The Life & Art of Binh Pho, written by Kevin Wallace, Director of the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts. The works in the auction illustrate Shadow of The Turning, Pho and Wallace’s most recent collaboration. The book shares a mythic tale of the Gelkandar – a race of beings that parallels and informs humans – and an Internet program created by a multi-national corporation to rob people of their dreams and destinies. It was prophesied that, when people walk the streets, their ears filled with transmissions, while staring at the small screen of devices, the time of The Turning has come.
Binh Pho’s works are highly collectible and at any given time only a limited number are available an exclusive number of galleries. This is an excellent opportunity to select from a diverse collection in acquiring an example of the artist’s work.
