1) Davenport, Longport, Staffordshire, circa 1815-1830, printed maker’s mark. Octagonal stone china jug with hydra handle, decorated with over-painted and gilded blue transfer foliate and geometric decoration. Height 18 cm. (7 1/8 in.). 2) Josiah Spode, Stoke, Staffordshire, circa 1820, inscribed maker’s mark. Pattern no. 3710, porcelain jug shaped as above with hand-painted and gilded urn and foliate decoration (mend C) Height 18.5 cm. (7 1/4 in.). Literature: First pattern illustrated in T.
