Born in New Jersey and raised on Sanibel, Vyd's formal artistic training began when he was awarded the Big Arts scholarship in 1988. After earning his MFA from Florida State University in 1998, he returned to Lee County. Vyd currently works as the assistant to Ron Bishop at the newly dedicated Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison College. This is Vyd's fifth year participating with Arts for ACT. Future plans include: Art Royale - Fall 2005; Art House - Winter '05; Arts for ACT Gallery - Sprint 2006; and a grand tour of Europe - Summer '06. Tune in to www.channelvyd.com for updates. <BR>Sabal Palmetto #4 was created in the controlled burn, charred forest of Ding Darling Sanctuary on Sanibel. Physically maneuvering Arches 300 paper across the trunk of a standing scarred charcoaled plant done in the spirit of John Cage. This piece can be hung in any of the four directions depending on space, mood and luck. <BR>

Buyer should contact seller within three business days. After full payment (which includes merchandise, 18% buyers premium, and shipping/insurance) has been received, the seller will ship out the merchandise within a week via UPS. The cost for shipping/handling and insurance will depend on the value of the piece(s) and destination. Florida residents must pay 6% FL Sales Tax.
<b>Shipping:</b>Domestic - sent via UPS ground, insured. Second Day or Next Day Air available on request. International: air only – contact us for quotes. There is a charge for handling and packing materials and all breakable items will be bubble-wrapped and boxes will be reinforced, or double boxed, to prevent breakage. We will combine lots if possible. Breakable items, however, will be combined only if they're small enough to fit in standard boxes. Please note - purchases of box lots may require several boxes for shipment. Buyers must be willing to pay resultant shipping costs. High value shipments may be sent registered mail if insurance amount is more favorable than UPS. We do not profit from shipping – we only pass along incurred costs.
<b>Payment: </b>Credit cards listed when registering for auction will be charged on the day following the auction for total amount of purchase including premium and appropriate shipping charges. While we also accept checks, money orders, and PayPal, we must receive notification within twelve hours of auction end that you do not wish your credit card charged. We ship only to the address listed on your credit card unless you contact us prior to auction and fax us a written authorization.
<b>Bids: </b>Floor bidders are given preference on bids of the same amount as Internet bidders; i.e. if you leave a bid of $25 and a floor bidder bids $25, item will go to floor bidder.
