pavement BOUNDARY-MARKER lettered in brass "Hammersmith & City Railway Joint Committee Private Property". Concrete inlay. Rectangular 8"x4"x3/4". Good condition. The Hammersmith & City Railway opened in 1864 to operate a line from Hammersmith to Westbourne Park. It was worked jointly by the GWR and Metropolitan Railway until 1867 thereafter by the Metropolitan Railway solely.
