This is an exceptional piece of amberina pitcher made by the Kanawha Glass Company of West Virginia. the crackling and coloring are beautifully done, and it is extremely attractive. The pitcher is mold blown, while the handle is hand applied. The pitcher is 8 3/4" tall. Photos do not show, but starting from the bottom and going upward, it is amber turning to red, and then in the middle, it is amber and then turning to red. This piece was a long process, because amberina is heat reactive, and because the amber is in the middle, this piece was probably made in two pieces, and then melded together expertly. The bottom is flat because it was blown into a mold, and the mold bottom was most likely metal. The pitcher sits perfectly upright and there is no damage. I promise, you will not be disappointed with this piece.
