This is a vintage circa 1920s German advertising lithograph print with artwork by Jupp Wiertz. Meissner & Buch, Leipzig. Likely taken from one of the famous German periodicals of the 1920s, could be from around WWI since this ad company was closed down before 1920. The litho is not glued onto the background paper; it is like a tipped in print but has an additional flap so it can be removed with out damaging the art. SIZE: Approx. 4 1/2" x 6". Background paper: 9" x 11 1/2". Jupp Wiertz (1888-1939) was a German illustrator and poster artist. Meissner & Buch were prolific publishers of extremely fine quality postcards from 1876 through to 1914, operating in Leipzig, Germany (the heart of the postcard industry prior to the First World War).
