One black and white and one colored topographical map. Atlas sheet 77B. The main place in these maps is Albuquerque. The mountain ranges are well documented. Lithograph by The Graphic Company of New York. The black and white map has some tears on the bottom border and on the bottom right. The colored map is in good condition, including the borders. Both measure 22” x 18.75.” Has the official Army Corps of Engineer logo and motto “Essayons.” A. A. Humphreys was the director of the expedition. G. M. Wheeler commanded the expedition along with 1st. Lt. P. M. Price and 1st. Lt. C. C. Morrison, who was a field astronomer. The Army Corp of Engineers started in 1802, but the institution most familiar to today's Americans formed in 1838.
