This rare excellent condition, actually used Indian Wars Period Black Leather Covered Wooden Cartridge Box has a 2” wide Oval Brass “NY” insignia on the central front-facing flap. This Box measures about 7.5” wide x 4” tall x 1.75” deep and features a full internal wooden cartridge holder insert that would hold 20 cartridges that is in excellent condition. The original leather flap closure and belt loops are also still intact, hinged at bottom with some expected surface scrapes from use. Inside, the original maker’s mark is stamped into the interior front leather, RIDASOCK & CO -SUCCESSORS TO J H McKENNEY NEW YORK - FRAZIER'S PATENT - PATENT APRIL 23RD 1876 - REISSUED MCH 5TH 1878. Fully operational, in very nice condition and has excellent appearance for display.
