c. 1865, Pair of Abraham Lincoln “Mourning” Prints titled, “The Nations Martyr” and “Death of Abraham Lincoln,” both in Original Wooden Period Frames, Very Fine.
This Lincoln Assassination Period lot has Two very different style Lincoln “Mourning” Prints each housed in their original period simple wooden frames.

1. The first titled, “Abraham Lincoln, / The Nations Martyr” and measures 9.25” x 12.75” (by sight), framed under glass to 12.25” x 16”, by Currier & Ives. Bust-length portrait of Lincoln with “Abraham Lincoln, The Nations Martyr. Assassinated April 14th 1865” below. The paper is lightly and evenly toned to the background. The image is sharp and bold.

2. The second Print titled, “Death of Abraham Lincoln” measures 13.5” x 9.5” (by sight), framed without glass to 16.5” x 12.5”, by Kellogg, 246 Main St., Hartford, Conn., printed by F.P. Whiting, 87 Fulton St., New York. The historic image shows Lincoln laying in his death bed surrounded by 18 men, each identified by name below their images in the image. Text at bottom reads, “Death of Abraham Lincoln. - April 15th 1865.”
