Featured in this lot is this glass negatives of fishing exploits circa 1850 to 1920. There are a total of five glass negatives in this collection. The first is the largest and shows a scene of a family and some other men fishing from the dockside in a marina. The second is is a fishing picture of a man with fishing rod and weighing the fish he just caught. The third is a picturesque scene of a boat on a lake with people on the bank of the lake and is taken from the opposite side of the lake. The fourth shows three men with their catch for the day strung up while they lounge on the bank. The last is is a scene of three men filleting their catch for the day with a tent behind them. Glass plates were in use from the 1850s through the 1920s and were popular with both amateur and professional photographers. The condition of this collection of glass negatives is well preserved with some of them wear to the negatives consistent with the age of the negatives. The measurements of these negatives range from 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" to 5" x 4".
