c. 1820s Historic Andrew Jackson Presidential Campaign Plate, 5.75” in diameter, with a black transfer central image of the Enoch Wood Portrait of Andrew Jackson and deep red rim borders with legends, “GENERAL JACKSON” above and “Hero of New Orleans” below. A couple of original firing dimples on the verso as made, some slight, typical age/lightness and a few traces of red from its firing when first made. Seventh President of the United States 1829-37, unsuccessful Presidential candidate in 1824 winning a plurality of votes but losing to John Quincy Adams by House decision. Overall a lovely Political Plate for display.
