MAP of The WORLD Historic Liverpool Creamware Bowl
c. 1790 Federal Period, Historical Liverpool Creamware Bowl, with Map of the World Transfer titled, “The WORLD in PLANISPHERE,” Extremely Fine.
This fairly huge in size c. 1790 Historical Liverpool Creamware Bowl, measures 13.5” in diameter and 5” high. It has two black transfer prints of English countryside hunting scenes on the outside and a third scene of two drunken politicians sitting at a table outdoors. The interior has in its center the best and most important transfer image, Two Globes of the World surrounded by personifications of the Four Continents with an inscription which reads, “The WORLD in PLANISPHERE.” Ornate floral sprigs decorate the sides of the bowl on its interior. Showing expected slight wear on the foot and rim with no significant chips and no cracks. A very choice quality and handsome bowl for display.
