This Bavarian overshot set has a decanter and four wine goblets. The overshot glass goes from cyrstal to cranberry. This set is circa 1860 - 1870's. The metal is pewter, and it is very ornate. the decanter stands 12 1/2". The decanter is in perfect condition. Below the spout of the decanter is a mythological Baccus mask with rams horns. The goblets are 4 1/2" tall with turned pewter stems, domed base and the pewter is highly embossed. The pewter cup-like shape that the glass sits in is embossed with cherub masks on the rim. You can tell that this glass is very old by looking at the rim of the goblets. The rims are 1/4" with no overshot and they have a wavy look to them, like the old glass on antique oak cabinets, when you look to the side, you can see the wavy look. The cranberry is true cranberry and not flashed. The four goblets are in perfect condition.

This is a one-of-a-kind set, and you will probably never see another one like it. Extremely rare.

Both a white and black background were used in photographing the pieces.
