An album containing 56 albumen photographs, views include : Sixt from the path to the EagleÕs Nest, 1877; The Light of the House, 1875; and From the Terrace Looking Down the Valley, 1877, and others. Each titled in ink on mount and dated 1864, 1866, 1875, 1877 or 1880, one signed with intials A. W. and with dedication inscription To E.C.C.L. July 1880. Three-quarter brown leather, gilt-stamped front cover, decorative bands. Shelfwear, spotted throughout.
Note: Alfred Wills was a founding member and the third president of the British Alpine Club (founded 1857). As one of the most well-known British mountaineers, his ascent of Wetterhorn Peak in 1854 is considered to be the starting point of modern mountaineering.
