c1930 Lot of 3 pieces stamped by maker D.J. Ghate (or Chate). 1) A silver and turquoise necklace done in what is known as a Zuni-style needlepoint setting (small, thin pieces of turquoise set close together as in needlepoint stitches). The necklace consists of 3 distinct sections suspended from handmade silver links, the 3rd section being a triangular-shaped pendant with silver dangles. 13” long. 2) A matching cuff-style bracelet with central oval flanked by two bands of needlepoint turquoise, set on a wire type cuff. 3) Turquoise needlepoint ring matches the central oval of the bracelet. Note: According to Guy Berger of Palms Trading Company in Albuquerque, needlepoint work is identified as small, thin slivers of turquoise—usually from the Sleeping Beauty Mine in Gila County, AZ—hand cut and ground, set in individual silver bezels. Petit Point is identified as more rounded pieces, almost like a round dot, set in individual bezels. Sometimes the turquoise pieces can actually be a little larger than a dot.Bracelet and ring stamped on reverse, no stamp on necklace but appears to be same artist. - HKA#65180
