This is all hand made by the Zuni Native Americans and hand painted on parfleche. Parfleche translate in Native American to "equal to an arrow" which means it is strong enough to stop an arrow. This piece is from 1930-1950's. Used at Shalako. The shield features a Zuni man in full dance with a feather cape with great detail. Measures 21" in diameter.
