Offered to you in this lot is a Zuni Native American Indian fetish craving, depicting an eagle standing victoriously on another. The magnificent carving was crafted and signed by expert Zuni craftsman, Maxx Laate. Maxx has been practicing his carving since the 1980's, alongside his now deceased brother Pernell. Maxx's most common medium is deer antler, though material can range from walrus teeth, fossil, turquoise, fishrock, and even natural amber honey. Working with the precision of a watchmaker, Maxx and Pernell could add intensity, motion, and gracefulness to their carvings. This carving in particular is in good condition. The piece measures 3 3/8" wide at the base, and 3 7/8" tall.
