Native American Zia Original Mixed Media Framed Painting-JD Medina. Titled, ''Buffalo Dancer,'' this is a signed watercolor and ink painting by Medina. The dancer holds a bow and rattle and wears a buffalo hide headdress with horns and feathers. Two zia birds fly above him. J D Medina Jose de la Cruz Medina (1935-)grew up at Zia Pueblo. He attended Santa Fe Indian School and the Institute of American Indian Arts. He works in pottery as well as on paper and canvas, and his boldly colored dancers, Koshares, Indian women, and natural scenery have the flair and realism of painting on canvas. His eagle dancers are among the most attractive ever to be painted on pottery. This painting in on paper and framed in wood, under a double mat and glass. The visual measures 17''H x 11''W. The frame has some scuffs on the sides near the top. A collector's choice painting.
