Issued in 1881 to Chas. H. Emerson and signed by Emerson as president for 1,000 shares at $5 each. The company owned the Zephyr, Bonnie Belle and Ben Hill lodes in the Monarch mining district (Colorado Mining Directory 1883, Corregan and Lingane). Great vignette of the miners operating the winze to bring up the ore. Ornate underprint with an eagle in the center in a very unique format. Small hole cancels thru signatures and slight browning where stub was attached at left edge. EF.
