Zeiss "blc" Code 12x60 Binocular Flak Sight, Captured in the Field by the Warrant Officer who Claimed Hitler's Globe

Designed to be used in conjunction with a 4 meter long range finder for directing heavy Flak guns. Brown paint finish overall with a red stripe around the hinged sunshield, which is also equipped with an internal hinged sunshade. The top of the sight is marked "blc/12x60/5(degree)/Nr.", and the individually adjustable eyepieces are fitted with an inverted "V" reticle on the right optic, a plastic lens protector on a canvas strap, and a hinged forehead/cheek rest with independently articulated sides. An iron sight is mounted on top, and a steel mounting bracket on the underside. Included with the sight is a copy of the capture certificate, made out to Chief Warrant Officer John Barsamian for the sight and other items, including "1 Global Map, German, Hitler's Eagle Nest" and "1 Seal, Ceramic, Italian Embassy, Munich"; while the capture location of this particular item is unknown, the Berchtesgaden region had dedicated Flak units that this sight could have been taken from.
