They Are significant because of 400 years ago the Spanish missionaries taught the Navajo and Zapotec how to weave, these practices are still mastered in both Zapatec and Navajo Tribes. 100% Wool All Natural Dyes. Pattern is Chiefs Blanket, meaning historically the Indians had wearing blankets and the chiefs blankets had this image (the pattern on this rug). The Zapotec began making these again in 1974 to representing the wearing blanket. Navajo Style. Kilim is Turkish for flat weave. Size is 8.9'x12'
