ZHUKOV, GEORGI K.
(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Scarce war-date D.S. 2pp. 4to., Kiev Military District, Nov. 28, 1940 in which an angered Zhukov issues an order setting forth accountablity for the loss of draught horses. He instructs that for every such horse lost, an investigation is to be commenced with guilt establishes and disciplinary action taken. Some marginal fingerprint soiling, binder holes in left margin, overall very good. and bearing a fine ink signature.
