"Received of Richard C Anderson, one plot for four Hundred acres of Land Surveryed on the waters of Highland Creek for William Pannill with the Warrants on which the Survey was made..." An extremely early document, signed by Taylor at 22 years of age. Mounted, with light soiling, o/w VG. Zachary Taylor's father, Colonel Richard Taylor, was an officer in the Revolutionary War. In 1785, he moved his family to Kentucky, then a county in Virginia, and settled near present day Louisville. The liberal land grants made by Virginia to its Revolutionary War soldiers prompted many to move west. $1,000-1,500
