Promising boxer (1904–1933), known as King of the Canebrakes, who knocked out 125 opponents (a record topped only by Archie Moore). He died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 28. Rare pearl-finish 6.5 x 8.5 photo of Stribling in a boxing pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “With best wishes To My Friend Bob Wynkle from W. L. ‘Young’ Stribling 5.14.26.” Few scattered creases, surface marks, and pin holes at the corners and edges, otherwise fine condition.
