Lot of 6 different. Five are marked Watkins Pacific Coast: two are 22 & 26th Montgomery (c.1874); 429 Montgomery (1867); one 26 Montgomery (c.1874). Sixth is pen identified as Watkins No. 1128. Views of Nevada Fall, Cathedral Rocks, Vernal Fall, Half Dome, etc. Carleton E. Watkins (1829–1916) was a pioneering American landscape photographer best known for his large-format views of Yosemite and the American West, which helped inspire the creation of Yosemite as a protected reserve. Renowned for technical precision and dramatic composition, his mammoth-plate photographs set a new standard for 19th-century nature photography.
