<B>Yoruba (Nigeria)</B></I>Divination Tapper, <I>Iroke Ifa</B></I><BR>IvoryHeight: 12 3/4 inches Dia. at open end: 1 1/4 inches<BR><BR>Analogous to the previous lots, this tapper has a single figure between sections of the tusk decorated at the top with incised circles and the bottom with fine-unit cross-hatching. The kneeling figure is scarified on the face and wears around the neck and hanging down, a large carved, amulet-like device strung on beads hand from the figure's neck. Other than a loss at the open end, the condition is good.<BR><BR>Provenance: H.
