TLS signed “Y. Rabin,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Israeli Prime Minister letterhead, August 6, 1974. Letter to Bernard Waldman, in full: "I am happy to welcome you to Jerusalem and to thank you for coming at this time to meet with members of the Government on a number of pressing issues that are of great concern. I know that your presence here reflects your profound commitment to our people's welfare and this, of itself, is a source of deep encouragement to the nation which is being called upon to endure hardships and make sacrifices as never before. There are, as you know, two priorities which are indispensable to our strength and even existence—defense and economic development. The exigencies of both, as a result of the Yom Kippur War, have brought us to a critical juncture to which we have to address ourselves with urgency. It is in this light that the Israel Bond Organization has at no time been placed in a role of greater importance than today. For the Organization has been a keystone of so much of our economic progress and the strengthening of our economy is indeed crucial to our capacity to defend ourselves and to achieving movement towards a meaningful peace with security. It is reassuring to have your understanding and continued leadership in support of Israel's humanitarian cause and for this I thank you." In very good to fine condition, with a trimmed left edge, toning from prior display, and an old tape stain to the bottom edge.
