Presented in this lot is an original early vintage Yellowstone Park Pahaska Tepee Enamel Painted Steel License Plate Topper, circa 1940s-1950s. Pahaska Tepee is William "Buffalo Bill" Cody's old hunting lodge and hotel in Wyoming. Cody built Pahaska Tepee to accommodate tourists traveling up the Cody Road along the North Fork of the Shoshone River to visit Yellowstone. Pahaska Tepee operates as a mountain resort and the original hunting lodge is open for tours. The plate topper displays an image of a teepee against a mountainous background, an image of Cody on the right and presumably Sitting Bull on the left, facing each other. Below is written, "Yellowstone Nat'l. Park". Plate topper exhibits normal age and wear scratches and slight paint loss. Measures 5.25"W x 9.875"L. weight 6oz.
