Yavapai County,AZ - April 9, 1909 - Consolidated Copper Creek Mining Co. Stock Certificate *Territor
Mine is located in Yavapai County, Arizona, with main offices in Kansas City, MO. Incorporated in Arizona in 1906. Cert. #11727 issued to F.M. Gipner for 400 shares. Signed by E.J. White, treasurer, and J. Stuart, president. Uncancelled. Vignette at top center of underground mining scene and small mining vignettes enclosed within the gilt border. Gilt seal and safety print. Printer: Goes. Measures about 8 x 11." According the Copper Handbook , the same owners controlled the Consolidated Copper Co. Of Colorado, which holds the Delmonico gold mine at Cripple Creek. The Arizona holdings comprised 15 claims, known as the Sunset group, adjoining the Rosalie Copper Co. "Advertising, largely in the cheap mail order monthlies, was of the brazenly fakish sort, calculated to catch the dollars of the ignorant. Advertised, 1907, that it was altogether likely to become as famous as Amalgamated. The Arizona property is idle, and the Delmonico mine, which apparently is of some promise, under honest management, was leased, 1910, to J. McGinnis & Co. Frank H. Horn, apparently a prompromoter now in jail for fraudulent mining stock deals. Company is in bad shape financially, and is regarded with suspicion." (pp. 640-41).
