Glossy 10 x 8 crew photo, signed in felt tip and ballpoint by Roger Ames, Julius Jacobson, Louis Kittel, John Mitchell, Del Goerke, Besby Holmes, Doug Canning, and one other. In fine condition, with light skipping and contrast to Holmes’s signature. Yamamoto was killed on Bougainville Island when his transport bomber aircraft was shot-down by fighter aircraft of the United States of America operating from Henderson Field on Guadalcanal. The death of Yamamoto reportedly damaged the morale of Japanese naval personnel and aided the morale of members of the Allied forces fighting Japan.
