Yale "Wedgwood" Knob
This is a prototype knob made by Yale Lock Company around 1900 in an attempt to duplicate Wedgwood blue and white pottery that the company was at that time importing and inserting into this model of doorknobs. Five different patterns have been found and this is the fourth prototype style to be sold by Web Wilson's hardware auctions. The knob is entry size and has nice beaded detail around the edge. The quality of these discs is not equal to authentic Wedgwood pieces but the Yale prototypes are very desirable for their designs and rarity. Condition is excellent.
