XL size French target pistol with Flobert style action signed “S. Gerster, St. Etienne” remaining in fine to excellent original condition cased with accessories. The pistol is chambered for .22 caliber rimfire and measures nearly 19” overallwith 12 3/8” barrel making it easily the largest Flobert style pistol we have ever cataloged. The barrel is mounted with a fancy target sight adjustable for windage and elevation and a large matching target type front sight which lines upwith the rear sight picture. The pistol is equipped with a set trigger and the metal surfaces are originally rust blued and 95% to 98% of this original blue remains and is aging and toning just slightly. The breech and hammer are dull casehardened and most of this finish remains. The pistol is contained within its original to the period French style fitted case which is lined in green colored velveteen. The case is in very good plus to near fine condition with just some minorfading and fraying. A screwdriver, cleaning rod, and rod tips are included along with the compartment cover and a correct tin of the period for cartridges. The exterior of the case is a light-colored walnut and in very good condition
