This is an antique circa 1868 lithograph print from the French periodical Le Geant featuring a caricature drawing by Henri Meyer. The subject is Emile de Girardin. Printed by Michels-Carre. We have four of these in this catalog, all different, and they are the only four that we have. They are rather hard to come by - this is the first time we have come across any.

Emile de Girardin (June 22, 1802 - April 27, 1881) was a French journalist, publicist, and politician.

The page is attached to a flexible paperboard; it was glued along the right edge and in the two left corners. This piece will need to be shipped flat. SIZE: Photo: Approx. 18" x 24". Paperboard: Approx. 19 1/2" x 25".

****** We provide in-house shipping on 99% of the items in our catalogs - no inflated shipping costs. Click on the Shipping & Payment tab above for more info.

The majority of it is in excellent condition except for some light denting and light wrinkles; there is a little more wrinkling around the left corners where the paper was attached to the paperboard (it has come off of the paperboard at those two spots but the right edge attachment is secure) along with a little more wrinkling along the right edge attachment. There is some wrinkling of the paperboard and the print toward the top of the right edge where they got damp at some point. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the top edge of the print. The paperboard has a couple of softened corners.
