S/N 23522. With a 26 " octagon barrel that was owned by Mayor Clumm of Tombstone and then given to Wyatt Earp. Wyatt Earp then gave this Remington to John Flood, who was Wyatt and Sadie Earp's personal Secretary and closest confidant.. Mr. Flood then gave this rifle to Mr. Gilchriese in 1956. Rifle is in overall good condition with a crack noted on the right side of the wrist. Metal and wood look to have been refinished some time ago. Bore is good with strong rifling present; pitting is noted in the grooves. Action mechanically functions correctly. Here is a great opportunity to own a rifle that belong to one of history's famous lawman. This item/ These items came from John Flood who in turn passed the Earp collection on to John Gilchriese. Mr. Gilchriese owned and operated The Wyatt Earp Museum in Tombstone, AZ, where all of these items were displayed.
